Branding + Identity
While working with Student Activities at UTRGV, I had the opportunity to design promotional materials for the Vaquero Cumbia Fest, featuring Bidi Bidi Banda, a band known for their iconic Selena covers. This event was a celebration of Latin music and culture, and my designs helped set the tone for an unforgettable night!
I created a variety of assets, including flyers, Instagram posts, TV slides, and email graphics, to effectively promote the event. The color palette was inspired by Selena’s legacy, using purple as the main color, paired with UTRGV’s orange to maintain school branding. A touch of beige was added for contrast and balance.
Drawing inspiration from cumbia and Latin poster designs I found on sites like Pinterest and Behance, the design incorporated bold typography, energetic compositions, and vibrant colors to reflect the event's lively spirit.
This project allowed me to blend creative design with university branding, and it was an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cultural celebration that honored both Selena's legacy and UTRGV’s vibrant student life.
